Krista Auker has been involved with HopertheOphan for over twenty years, currently serving as Secretary. Krista is the daughter of Allen and Janelle Avery, founders of African Outreach Ministries and H4tO. She was born and raised in Africa. She loved her childhood, spending her first eight years in the Zambian bush before moving to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe with her family. Her heart is still filled with compassion for the people of Africa, and especially the most vulnerable children of Zimbabwe.
Krista earned a B.A. from Wheaton College and a Physician Associate/Assistant (PA) degree from Midwestern University. She worked as a PA for seven years in Family Medicine. She then retired to raise her four wonderful daughters. She is grateful to have been married to her husband, Jim, for twenty-five years.
In her free time, she enjoys time with family, cooking, hiking and travel. She currently resides in Wheaton, Illinois with her family.
