Greetings from Zimbabwe!
The annual Bible Quiz was held on April 6th this year. The children’s attendance was very good despite the cold weather. We could feel their excitement and their zeal even before we started. Similo and the two volunteers, Natsai and Carol, did a good job of preparing the whole competition. There were prizes to be won but our main focus was and will always be to make sure we plant as much seed of God’s word in the lives of the children as we can.
Some of the children are in families where they don’t belong to any church, and some are brought up under cultic influence. The Bible activities at Themba may be the only time they will hear about the truth of the love of Jesus. These quizzes are a part of our evangelism tools with the children.
Our desire and prayer are that when they grow up, they will not forget the memory verses and everything that we teach them about God.
It was very good and encouraging to have our former senior children, Mpendulo and Jeremiah come to help us. They shared with the children how much they benefited from participating in Themba’s Bible activities, including the Quiz that has always been the highlight of each year.
