Here is the Christmas Party report and pictures! They had a wonderful time of fellowship sharing songs, games and inspirational messages. Each family went home with a generous supply of food to prepare a Christmas meal. The children received a bag filled with yummy treats. We are so grateful they are able to hold this joyous event each year for the children and their families with your generous support!
Warmest greetings to all our Themba sponsors and friends. We thank the Lord once again for blessing us with good health and are praying for a few caregivers who are still not well. We appreciate the lord so much for allowing us to celebrate Christmas, a time of thanks giving and fellowship. It reminds us of Christ being born in our hearts and it is our prayer that as Themba family, we will grow in our relationship with God.
We held our Christmas thanks giving party on the 9th of December 2022. It was a great time for us as the Themba family. This year we had so many families as we took new children at the beginning of the year. The event was full of life with the children doing presentations in form of song, dance, memory verses, poetry and speech. The children also enjoyed the Christmas coloring place mats and other activity pages provided by Lynn. The winners were happy to get extra sweets.
The caregivers had time to encourage the children to show respect and work hard in their school work and at home.
The Pumula caregivers led us in worship with Lavina Ndlovu singing so beautifully. Anna Maseko managed to attend the event although she has not been well. She was so thankful to God for the gift of life and sang the song “There is none like Jesus”.
Several children blessed us with the song “Jesus is coming again” and another child took to the stage with dance. A young boy recited 5 memory verses. Two Trade school students inspired and encouraged the other children that it is good and fulfilling to acquire skills training if you don’t excel academically and that God has given all of us different gifts to help us achieve good things in life. Mpendulo Sibanda, who graduated recently with a Degree in Architecture, encouraged the other children to work hard in their studies even under difficult circumstances. He shared that in the middle of his studies he lost his grandmother who was everything to him and was on his own but is so grateful Themba has been there for him. Mr. Moyo also encouraged the families to continue trusting God in every situation and wished them splendid holidays.

We had a wonderful time of fellowship with both the children and the caregivers as we had refreshments at the end of the event. The children had time to interact and shared ideas. We also had time to distribute Christmas groceries to all the Themba families and we were so touched to hear how appreciative the families were for the gifts.
The children also enjoyed Christmas goodies in form of chocolate sweets and biscuits and playing with balloons. This was indeed a great day for the children and their families.
