Greetings from Zimbabwe!
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank God for being able to update you once again on what the Lord is doing here in Bulawayo. We continue to thank God for keeping us safe.
Winter has arrived and so many people suffer from a flu bug. The Themba families are well except for a few caregivers. We are sad as we lost one of our beloved caregivers this month. Never-the-less, we thank the Lord for everything; He is faithful all the time.
School Visits
The schools have opened and the children are back at school. We thank the Lord for keeping them safe as they had been on holiday last month. We thank God they have settled well and the teachers are all in their stations.
We continue to visit the schools for consultative purposes and are glad to report that we have good relationships with all the schools we work with. This will be the longest term for the children as they will have 14 weeks in school and will close again in August.
The writing candidates both in primary and high schools are busy with their assessment learning activities. This process will be fazed out at the end of this year as it loads the children with so many assignments, giving them very limited time for studying. The children seem to be happy with this new development. This will also give them enough time to prepare for their mid-year examinations.
Bible Clubs
The Friday Bible program is running smoothly. We are continuing with the lessons from the Book of Hope and are teaching the children practical lessons of life that will help them to be responsible adults one day.
We held our first Weekend Bible Club this past weekend. We believe Jesus will be known in the lives of these children too. We used this time to do counseling to those who needed it and helped those who wanted to commit their lives to the Lord.
We thank God also for the privilege of sharing the gospel with individual children.
May you pray that God will grant us wisdom to be able to introduce the children to Jesus and be able to help them to commit their lives to Him.
Family Visits and Prayer Time
We managed to visit the caregivers at home and had a great time of prayer with each family. Most of the caregivers are well, except for a few.
• Letwin Nsingo, Siphiwe’s mother, has been troubled with muscle pain. She went to a clinic for medical attention but is still in pain and has difficult walking.
• We thank God for Sikhulile Goba, Sharon’s mother, who is now feeling better.
• It is with a sad heart we announce the passing of Patricia Tsiga, Musa’s grandmother. She fell and suffered a major stroke. May you pray for Musa and her siblings, that they will find comfort in God.
May you pray for all the Themba families, that they will look to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith.
We appreciate and value all of our Themba sponsors and friends, for your love, care, prayers and support.
