Lynn Nuzzo
Sponsorship and Donation Coordinator
Board member since 2005
Hope4theOrphan (H4tO)/Themba
Lynn was introduced to Janelle and Allen Avery and their work with H4tO in 2004. She began her involvement by engaging the children of the church where she served as Director of Children’s Ministry, to collect and ship school supplies, backpacks, and storybooks to the orphan children. Finding this task costly and slow, she wanted to do more for the orphans and their families that involved the whole congregation. So, in 2005, Janelle and Lynn began a sponsorship program for H4TO.
In 2007, Lynn and a team from her church traveled to Zimbabwe to meet the children and provide a three-day Bible camp. After leaving the country, the team saw a need to assist Janelle on the stateside and suggested a part time sponsorship coordinator be hired for the ministry. Lynn eagerly accepted this position. Lynn traveled to Zimbabwe in 2011 and 2013 to work with Janelle and the Themba team. Through these trips the whole staff was able to grow together. The children and their caregivers appreciated the opportunities to connect with Janelle and Lynn and know that there are people across the world that pray and support and love them.
Lynn lives in Illinois and has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. With her strong passion to share with children the love of God, she has been serving children and families in churches for 21 years now in the Chicago suburbs. She is currently serving as Director of Youth and Family Ministry at the Presbyterian Church in Orland Park. Lynn has two grown boys. Craig lives nearby and is engaged to be married and Scott lives on a fish hatchery in Wyoming.
