Children’s Pastor and Counsellor in Zimbabwe

Similo works together with her husband, Ndabezinhle, to pastor Great Joy Christian Fellowship Church in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  She traveled to Durban, South Africa for biblical studies where she and her husband obtained diplomas in ministry. They are blessed with three sons and a daughter. She is a gifted teacher of the Word and has a heart for disadvantaged communities. Similo has been involved in children’s ministry for years as a Sunday School teacher and trainer.  

Before joining Themba as the Children’s Pastor and Counsellor, Similo worked with the Scripture Union Organization doing HIV/ AIDS awareness programs in schools, as well as organizing and facilitating camps for children.  Similo, along her husband, has worked to equip families with positive parenting skills, marriage enrichment workshops and counselling. 

Similo is a counsellor by profession and has served with Themba for more than ten years.  She has a heart for widows and orphaned children and feels so humbled to be available for them in their point of need.  It has always been a joy for her to do school visits, home visits, prayer meetings for the caregivers and the children for encouragement. God has always blessed Similo with an opportunity to share the gospel with the children and their families and has been overjoyed whenever they surrender their lives to God. Her prayer is that Themba will always be such a place where Jesus and His love is known and experienced.
