Here is the Christmas Party report and apictures! They were not able to serve a meal again this year but had a wonderful time of fellowship by sharing and playing games. Each family went home with a generous supply of food to prepare a Christmas meal. We are so grateful they were able to get creative and have this party again this year!

THEMBA CHRISTMAS PARTY REPORT 2021 by Similo Thebe

It is a pleasure to be able to report to you at this wonderful time of the year. We are so thankful to God for His grace which has taken us this far. We were saddened by the loss of two of our Themba children and one caregiver this year. Nevertheless the Lord continues to comfort us through the Holy Spirit and His word which encourages us to be thankful at all times.

A TIME OF THANKSGIVING

We held our thanksgiving mini Christmas party on the 20th of December 2021. It was a great day for our Themba children and their families as we celebrated Christmas. Mr. Cornelius Moyo encouraged the families with the Word of God as we started the program. We had so many things to thank the Lord for. We thanked God for sparing our lives amid a deadly pandemic. We also thanked Him for making it possible for the children to be back at school, although one of our children, Lawrence Ndlovu tested positive for Covid 19 recently. He had mild symptoms and is better now, praise the Lord.

PRESENTATIONS IN SONG, VERSES, POEMS , DANCE, AND SPEECHES

The children had a wonderful time of different presentations in the form of songs, memory verses, dance, poems, and speech. Mpendulo Sibanda, one of our university students, encouraged the other children to work hard in their school work and follow his example. Mgcini Dube, who did a course in Art and Craft, and Simbarashe Zvirevo, who is doing Carpentry at trade school, shared their story of how they struggled academically until they realized that God has blessed their hands to do practical work. They are so happy to have learned to fend for themselves and their families. The Pumula group of caregivers also blessed us with beautiful music as they lead us in worship and encouraged other caregivers to rely on God at all times and seek His wisdom in raising Godly children.

ENJOYING CHRISTMAS COMPETITIONS

We appreciate the Children’s Christmas materials sent to us as the primary school children competed in groups of threes to do the Baby Jesus worksheets. Vanessa Moyo’s group came in first and walked away with chocolate sweets. The high school children also worked in pairs as they competed with the Christmas Spy game. Mondliwethu Timoti’s group came in first and they walked away with biscuits. The children enjoyed this part of the program so much.

GIFTS OF FOOD TO ENJOY ON CHRISTMAS DAY

We also distributed Christmas groceries to the families to take home. They appreciated this gift so much as they will be able to prepare meals for themselves during Christmas.

THANK YOU!

We take this opportunity once again to thank all our Themba sponsors and friends, for your love, prayers and support for this event to be a success. We saw smiles of joy and relief in the faces of the children and their families. We love you and are praying for you all. Stay blessed and Merry Christmas to you all.
