It is always a joy to report to you on what God is doing in our lives and those of our Themba families. We thank the Lord for keeping us safe at this time of the pandemic. We have been inspired by the testimony God gave to David in Acts 13:22 which says, “…I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, which shall fulfill all my will.” It is our prayer this year that our lives and those of the Themba Family will be a testimony to the world and that we will be after God’s own heart.

Weekend Bible Club

This weekend program has been put in place to cater for the children who are not able to attend the Friday Bible club as they stay too far from the venue of the meeting. We try to utilize weekends to have time with these children. It is also a great opportunity to make Christ known to these children and to have time for Bible lessons and prayer.

On the 24th of April we had our first meeting with these children and were so excited to meet them for the first time after the lock downs. It was a good and fruitful meeting with over 40 children in attendance. We had time to present the Gospel to individual children who wanted to know about Jesus and I am so happy to have witnessed Mondliwethu Timoti, one of the new children in the program, giving his life to Jesus. We gave him a Bible to read at home as he stated that he has never gone to a Bible believing church. We shared the good news to several children, especially those who are new in the program, as they showed a hunger to know God.

It is our prayer to target the new families for encouragement and prayer. May you please pray for these children and their families that they will come to the knowledge of God and have a good testimony like David.

We also took this time to prepare the children for the upcoming Bible Quiz competition scheduled for the 22nd of this month. The children were encouraged to read the Word and memorize scripture. We believe they will make God’s Word a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their paths. They also had time for fun as the high school children played games while the little ones enjoyed coloring and using stickers to decorate their work. They loved the stickers so much as they quickly used all of them and waited patiently to be given more. It was indeed a rewarding time as they played while learning at the same time. We also had a time for fellowship as we had refreshments at the end of the program.

Friday Bible Clubs

We had the challenge of finding a new meeting place as the church that used to host us for years could no longer do so because of the pandemic. We thank God for providing us with an alternative venue at Lotshe Primary School in Makokoba Township. The new venue is in a central point, which makes it easier for all the children to attend meetings as it is nearer to their homes. It is also child friendly and conducive. We have a very good relationship with the school. The children love this new venue and we believe the attendance will improve greatly. It is our prayer that this place will be a place of encouragement to the children and that they will grow in the knowledge of God and be transformed.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all our Themba sponsors and Friends for making all these programs a reality.

May the Lord bless the work of your hands. We love you all and are praying for you all.
