I love that November is designated Orphan Awareness Month because God has told us that he is Father to the fatherless and that those who are orphaned and widowed are precious in his sight.
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” Psa. 68:5
“In you (God) the fatherless find compassion.” Hosea 14:3
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after the widows and orphans in their distress….” James 1:27
Life is always filled with challenges in Zimbabwe, but this year has been especially difficult. Hyperinflation is destroying the economy and hit a high in the month of June when it was 176%, the second highest in the world. Once again, the Zimbabwe dollar has now collapsed.
Perhaps for the first time in the history of our ministry, Hope4theOrphan, this has affected us in that inflation is now taking place in the U.S. dollar, as well. We have found that our reserves have been depleted and we are falling short. As a result, we are turning to you who love this ministry and we are asking for your help.
We will be posting on Facebook and Instagram two of our children each week during the month, beginning on Monday, the 6th. We are asking, if you are able, to re-post them on your social media so we can spread the word. Our desire is to raise funds, but also to raise awareness of those children God has given to us to “look after.” And we are asking you to pray for Hope4theOrphan – pray that our God who is Father to the fatherless will fill our coffers and will supply our needs as we “look after these widows and orphans in their distress.”
We are grateful for each one of you and for all the help and support you have been to us in the past. May the Lord of Life bless you and shine his face upon you as we head into the holiday season.
