Happy New Year!
It is so exciting to be reporting to you at this time of the year. We are grateful to God for what He has done for us as the Themba family. He has kept us safe throughout the year. He is a loving and a caring God.
We held our Themba Christmas party on December 21. It was a day to remember as the children and their caregivers came in numbers to grace the occasion. They had been waiting all year for this event as we saw only smiles in their faces. It was a time to relax with good food and entertainment. What made this party so special was that it was the first time after Covid to fellowship and eat together as a big family. (During the pandemic we just met for a short time and distributed groceries to families to take home.)
The venue of the party was a church in Makokoba, very close to the venue of the Friday Bible Club. It was central and easily accessible to all. We thank God for the good relationship we have with this church. The decorations were nice and fit for a party and the hall very spacious.
We were so proud to present our Themba graduates for 2023. Lawrence, Togara, Simphiwe and Jeremiah inspired the other children to work hard in school.
Togara and Jeremiah were Masters of ceremony and they did not disappoint.
The children entertained us with drama, song and dance. Siphiwe, Siyabonga, Nkosilathi, Juanita and Banele blessed us with worship songs. Several children recited poems on the birth of Our Savoir Jesus. The little ones also recited memory verses and Nkosinolwazi was the best student of the Word. Anele, Nomthandazo and Thulisani competed in dance to the amusement of the crowd.
Cornelious took this time to encourage the children and the caregivers on the Word of God and shared with the families on how Themba will work with them this coming year.
After the program we all enjoyed a fine meal together.
Let me take this time to thank all our Themba sponsors and friends for your love and support. We really appreciate all that you have done for us over the years. May the Lord bless the work of your hands. We love you and are praying for you all.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
